Founded in 2008 over a ₹40 meal, True Light has grown from a single meal distribution into a movement touching 30,000+ lives across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and beyond.
In 2008, Prabhu Swamy founded search through trash for food near a Bengaluru market. Unable to look away, she spent ₹40 — her lunch money — to buy that woman a meal. That act of compassion became the seed of True Light.
What started as community welfare work in Nagasandra has grown into a registered trust serving thousands of children and elderly beneficiaries across Bengaluru and Karnataka.
"Our mission is simple: serve those who have the least — children without parents, elders without family, families without hope. Every day is a step toward that vision."
— Prabhu Swamy, Founder
